Paying for Yerevan public transport

The city's unified transport site explains tickets and payment methods, including transport cards, supported bank cards and Telcell Wallet.

How to use it: Check ticket types and purchase instructions before boarding. If a pass is linked to a bank card, validate with that physical card.

Before you use it: Phone NFC payments are for single rides and may not identify a pass linked to the physical card. Do not assume cash payment to drivers or universal foreign-card acceptance.

Connectivity: travel eSIM or local SIM

Airalo offers data-only Armenia eSIMs. Viva provides eSIM service for compatible devices through service centers and requires the subscriber's passport.

How to use it: Check eSIM support, carrier lock and activation rules before departure. If calls or SMS are needed, distinguish data-only plans from voice-capable subscriptions.
